On April 7th, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Miami, the Taiwanese Association of America Greater Orlando (大奧蘭多臺灣同鄉會), and Team Taiwan (認養公園臺灣之友會) in Orlando hosted a commemoration of the 45th Anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA), marking a significant milestone in the enduring friendship between the United States and Taiwan. The event, held at South Econ Community Park, featured the unveiling of the 'Team Taiwan' plaque as part of the Adopt-a-Park program, highlighting the dedication of Taiwanese community and its friends who continue to serve the community.

Over 200 attendees, including representatives from the offices of U.S. Senators and Congressmen, Florida House Representatives, the Orange County Mayor's office, Orange County Commissioners, as well as judges and the Orange County Sheriff, gathered at the park to honor the historic act that has fostered peace and cooperation between the U.S. and Taiwan. Charles Chou, the Director General of TECO in Miami, emphasized that this event signifies just the beginning of Taiwan's growth within the community, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to give back. Alongside the commemoration, a gathering was organized to create a "time capsule," encapsulating hopes and aspirations for the future of U.S.-Taiwan relations. US Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Rick Scott, and Congressman Darren Soto dispatched representatives to voice their support for Taiwan, emphasizing the significance of bolstering cultural, economic, and security ties. The time capsule will be opened when TRA turns 50.

The event also honored the ongoing contributions of the Taiwanese community in Orange County, particularly through 'Team Taiwan' participating in the Adopt-a-Park program. Sheryl Fleming, the site supervisor of South Econ Community Park, praised their commitment to community service, reflecting the deep bond between the people of Taiwan and the United States. Additionally, attendees enjoyed authentic and exquisite Taiwanese refreshments and bubble tea provided by Sno Tea Caffè and Frosty Fox, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.

This event owes its success to the generous support and sponsorship from various organizations and individuals. All the support reaffirms the friendship and cooperation that defines U.S.-Taiwan relations, demonstrating the strong bonds between the two nations. The seamless coordination and execution of the event was facilitated by the excellent planning of 'Marie June and Associates, Inc.'
