Taipei, Jan. 1 (CNA) Flag raising ceremonies were held by the central and local governments across Taiwan on Wednesday, as Taiwan welcomed in 2025.

The main event was held in front of the Presidential Office in Taipei, with top officials in attendance, including President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), Premier Cho Jung-tai and Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜).
