On January 26th, the CACA Woman Club and FASCA Princeton visited the Rose Mountain Rehab Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey to celebrate Lunar New Year with the senior citizens to “Welcome the Year of the Snake 2025.” Members of the CACA Woman Club and a group of young and bright FASCA members performed a series of wonderful performances to suit the occasion. The FASCA members captivated the audience with their skillful and lively dance.
The opening song was the “恭喜恭喜(Gong Xi Gong Xi) and “歡樂今宵 (Happy Tonight)” a popular Lunar New Year songs to wish everyone a happy evening. The Dreamcats in short skirts danced happily to the songs such as “梨山癡情花 (Li Shan Flower)”, “特別的愛給特別的你 (Special Love for Special You)”, and ”舞女 (Dancing Lady)”.
The FASCA teens danced, sang, and put on spectacular performances. As a group, they brought the energy of festivity to the center with their APT (by Rose and Bruno Mars) and The Perfect World- 完美世界 dances. The Chapter President, Claire Su, played a beautiful song on the Guzheng, a traditional chinese instrument. Her elegant style and poise brought great comfort to the Center’s residents. FASCA member, Amanda Lin performed a graceful cultural dance for the audience. Dressed in traditional clothing and waving a beautiful pink fan, her performance, “青花瓷 (Blue and White Porcelain)”, impressed many people.
The CACA Woman Club prepared delicious cookies and cakes, Taiwanese snacks “燒鮮草 (hot grass jelly)” with red bean paste, and oranges to bring good luck and happiness to the senior citizens.
The program wrapped off with everyone singing the song “感恩的心 (The Grateful Heart)” to thank people for being there and accompanying us throughout our lives. A grateful heart that cherishes the flowers blooming and falling.
The President of CACA Woman's Club, Su-Huei Huang said that the Year of Snake is a good omen, and she hopes that everyone will be happy and smiling. The visit made all senior citizens feel the warmth of the New Year. Everyone was excited when President Huang handed out red envelopes to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous year so that they can realize their dreams and embrace happiness in the Year of Snake.
