On April 26, 2025, members of the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors San Diego Chapter (FASCA-SD) proudly participated in the Linda Vista Multicultural Fair & Parade, joining dozens of community groups in a vibrant celebration of culture, diversity, and unity.

Marching down Linda Vista Road, FASCA-SD members held their large chapter banner high, with bold Taiwanese characters proudly displayed. Waving Taiwanese and American flags and greeting the cheering crowds, the group made their presence known, proudly representing their cultural heritage.

"It was a powerful and emotional moment to share our pride, not just in FASCA-SD, but also in our Taiwanese roots," Calvin Chen, the co-project leader said.

This marked FASCA-SD’s participation in the Linda Vista Multicultural Parade for the first time ever, and it proved to be an unforgettable experience. Many spectators waved, cheered, and even approached members afterward with questions about Taiwan, reflecting genuine curiosity and enthusiasm.

After completing the parade route, FASCA-SD members explored the bustling fairgrounds, where the air was filled with the aromas of international foods and the lively atmosphere of cultural booths, performances, and carnival rides. From savoring Mexican tacos to enjoying Filipino desserts, members deepened their appreciation for San Diego’s rich cultural landscape.

The experience strengthened FASCA-SD’s commitment to cultural outreach and inspired plans for future participation.

"Next year, we hope to return even stronger—maybe even host a booth of our own to share Taiwanese snacks like boba tea," consulting mentor Peggy Han shared excitedly.

Through the participation, FASCA-SD once again lived out their core mission: fostering leadership, service, cultural appreciation, and heritage connection among Taiwanese American youth.
