The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), featuring Vienna Philharmonic flute concertmaster Karl-Heinz Schütz, will perform at the Keelung Performing Arts Center Auditorium on May 17 and at the National Taichung Theater Grand Theater on May 18.

The program features a diverse lineup, including “R. Strauss: Sonatine for Winds No. 1 in F Major, TrV 288,” “C. P. E. Bach: Flute Concerto in G Major, H. 445,” and “W. A. Mozart: Symphony No. 35 in D Major, K. 385, ‘Haffner’.”

Born in Landeck, Austria, Karl-Heinz Schütz is recognized as one of today’s leading flutists. Inspired by his father, he began his musical training at a young age and later studied under renowned musicians such as Othmar Falch, Aurèle Nicolet, and Philippe Bernold.

For Schütz, the flute is more than a musical instrument; it is a medium through which he connects with the world. In his dual roles as both conductor and performer, Schütz will showcase his musical vision through this collaboration, featuring works that span from Strauss to Mozart in a performance that should not be missed.

The May 18 concert in Taichung will include a pre-concert talk by music scholar Chang Hao-min (張皓閔). For more information, visit the NTSO official website.
