On May 18, FASCA Princeton kicked off its first quarterly meeting of 2025 with a dynamic and culturally rich event held at a clubhouse in Basking Ridge. The full-day gathering aimed to prepare members for the year ahead, featuring event planning, team-building activities, a heartfelt farewell for graduating seniors, and a special celebration for Mother’s Day.

The day began with a warm welcome for Mrs. Chris, the newly appointed FASCA Princeton Counselor. Known for her kindness and encouraging presence, her introduction set a positive and supportive tone for the afternoon.

During the first part of the meeting, student members received a detailed overview of upcoming events and activities, including key dates and leadership opportunities. The session provided a clear framework to help members start the year with confidence and direction.

In the second half of the event, the focus shifted to community building. The student executive committee led karaoke and engaging team-building activities designed to enhance communication and strengthen bonds among members. These sessions helped cultivate a sense of unity and support within the group.

Adding a vibrant cultural touch, the karaoke segment highlighted Taiwanese pop music, giving students the chance to explore and connect with their heritage in a fun and meaningful way. A potluck lunch followed, featuring crowd-pleasing dishes such as curry chicken with rice, cold noodles, fried rice noodles, and dumplings, which encouraged informal conversations and deeper connection over shared meals.

Following lunch, students rehearsed for their upcoming performance at Passport to Taiwan, a major cultural celebration held annually in Union Square, New York City. The event is a key highlight on FASCA Princeton’s calendar and provides an important platform for showcasing Taiwanese traditions and pride.  FASCA members were divided into three groups, with counselors and parents acting as judges to select the best dance group and give a special gift to the first place winner, "A to T Uncle Vincent".

The meeting also included a touching Mother’s Day tribute. Students presented handmade carnation bouquets to their mothers—many of whom have been instrumental in supporting the organization by driving members to practices and events. “This is the first time I’ve received flowers from my child,” one mother said. She shared that her daughter had grown from a quiet student into an active, confident member of the community who has made many friends through FASCA.

The emotional high point of the day came during the farewell ceremony for graduating seniors. FASCA executive board president Claire Su presented parting gifts and flowers to the seniors, recognizing their contributions and wishing them success in the next chapter of their academic journeys.

This event not only marked the beginning of a promising new year for FASCA Princeton, but also reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to cultural appreciation, youth leadership, and community spirit. With a full calendar of activities ahead, FASCA remains dedicated to fostering meaningful experiences that promote and support Taiwanese culture throughout 2025.
