Taipei, May 23 (CNA) The four-day Computex that wrapped up in Taipei on Friday welcomed 86,521 buyers from 152 countries this year, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), one of the organizers of the trade show.

This year's theme, "AI Next," brought together leading global tech companies and startup teams that helped spur potential business opportunities among buyers across the supply chain, TAITRA said in a news release.

The event also showcased Taiwan's vital role as an international platform for technological exchanges, it said.

The 2025 edition of the show focused on three topics -- artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, next-generation technologies, and future mobility.

Citing Pegatron as an example, it said the Taiwanese firm highlighted its capabilities in human-machine integration with interactive bionic robot dogs and immersive virtual reality devices.

BenQ, a Taiwanese multinational company that markets technology products, also attracted many visitors with its various exhibits, including an AI golf simulator that combines visual tracking, motion sensing and smart analytics, TAITRA said.

This year, Computex's supplemental show for tech startups, InnoVEX, also drew 450 exhibitors from 24 countries, up 12.5 percent from 2024, it said.
