Taiwan's minor opposition Taiwan People's Party is pushing for the abolition of the Control Yuan, the government's watchdog agency, saying it favors the interests of the ruling party. Israel and Iran continue to exchange deadly strikes with little sign that either side is seeking to de-escalate the conflict. And President Lai Ching-te has met with a visiting delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives, calling for progress on avoiding double taxation and emphasizing Taiwan's willingness to bolster its national defense.
