The Ministry of Culture (MOC) held a press conference on June 17 to announce that five Taiwanese performing arts groups will embark on a tour across the U.S. in the second half of this year. The lineup includes Bulareyaung Dance Company (布拉瑞揚舞團), Huang Yi Studio+ (黃翊工作室+), Hung Dance (翃舞製作), Twincussion (雙子打擊樂團), and Liu I-ling (劉奕伶).
Minister of Culture Li Yuan, American Institute in Taiwan Director Raymond Greene, Foundation for Scholarly Exchange Executive Director Randall Nadeau, National Culture and Arts Foundation Chairman Lin Chi-yang (林淇瀁), and other distinguished guests attended the press conference.
The five selected groups are ready to showcase their talents at a range of arts festivals and venues throughout the U.S. Their performances will enrich renowned platforms such as SummerStage, the Battery Dance Festival, and the Fall for Dance Festival in New York City. Moreover, audiences can anticipate vibrant presentations at Jacob’s Pillow in Massachusetts and various arts venues in Washington, D.C., Houston, and other locations in Texas.
Minister Li emphasized the longstanding ties between Taiwan and the United States, noting that American culture has significantly influenced Taiwan. “No matter how the world changes, Taiwan and the U.S. have maintained a robust partnership, with cultural exchange at its core,” he said. He also expressed his gratitude to Director Raymond Greene for his continued support, stressing the importance of collaborative efforts in increasing Taiwan’s visibility on the global stage.
