Newton, MA — On June 20, 2025, members of the Boston Chapter of the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) gathered at the Hyde Community Center in Newton Highlands, adjacent to the Culture Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Boston, for the annual end-of-year celebration. The event commemorated a successful year of cultural service and recognized the achievements of graduating senior members.

Families contributed to a lively potluck party, sharing homemade finger foods while students engaged in sports and board games that helped strengthen peer connections. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for members to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and build friendships that will carry into future cultural initiatives.

Dr. Tzong-Shi Lu, advisor to FASCA Boston, expressed his appreciation to students and families for their dedication and support over the past year. He invited current members and prospective participants to attend the upcoming local orientation training scheduled for August 19–21, 2025, at the TECO Boston Culture Center in Newton Highlands. Dr. Lu also previewed key summer events, including a meet-and-greet with Taipei Songshan High School students, who are partners in the FASCA global English tutoring program, on July 2, as well as participation in the Rhode Island Dragon Boat Festival on August 31. Additionally, he extended best wishes to members involved in this year’s OCAC English Teaching Volunteer Service Program for Overseas Youth, as well as those pursuing internships, traveling to Taiwan, participating in sports tryouts, or preparing for the SAT.

FASCA Boston President Anthony Lu organized this year-end event to celebrate the chapter’s achievements during the 2024–2025 season. Under his leadership, the chapter participated in more than five community events across Greater Boston, offering cultural booths and activities to promote Taiwanese heritage. FASCA Boston also supported numerous programs at the TECO Culture Center, including Newton Taiwan Day and the annual Taiwanese Flag Raising Ceremony.

"This was a very successful year, and we could not have achieved it without the continued support of the Boston OCAC Cultural Center, our advisors, Dr. Tzong-Shi Lu and Ms. Sharon Lin, and our dedicated youth ambassadors," said President Lu.

In a special segment of the event, members connected virtually with a graduating senior and presented a digital farewell card. On behalf of the chapter, President Lu thanked all graduating seniors and their families—including Che Hsu, Naomi Wu, Norah Liao, and Sherri Hung—for their enduring support and meaningful contributions to FASCA Boston.

As FASCA Boston looks forward to another year of cultural exchange, leadership development, and community service, it remains committed to fostering a strong, inclusive network of Taiwanese American youth.
