Taipei, Aug. 3 (CNA) Taiwan's top women's badminton doubles duo, Hsieh Pei-shan (謝沛珊) and Hung En-tzu (洪恩慈), achieved a straight-sets victory over Japan's Kaho Osawa and Mayui Tanabe at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 300 Macau Open on Sunday.

The Taiwanese pair won the final 21-18, 21-12, marking the duo's second title this year after their win at the BWF Super 300 Taipei Open in May.

The match on Sunday was their first encounter with the Japanese duo, ranked No. 63 in the world.

Hsieh and Hung, ranked No. 12, began the opening game well.

Hung, who plays left-handed, performed strongly at both the net and the back of the court, helping the Taiwanese pairing take an early 11-3 lead into the technical timeout.

However, the Japanese duo responded with a 12-2 scoring run, taking the lead with 15-13.

The Taiwanese duo then regrouped and struck back.

With their opponents' offense proving less effective, Hsieh and Hung responded by scoring three consecutive points from 18-18 to close out the first game.

In the second game, the Taiwanese players again showed strong rhythm and coordination, quickly building an 11-4 lead.

This time, they maintained control and steadily widened the gap.

Hung earned a match point opportunity with a frontcourt smash, the eighth for the Taiwanese pairing in the match.

She then sealed the victory with a shot near the net that forced an error from the Japanese duo.
