Taipei, Aug. 14 (CNA) Taiwanese speed skater Kuo Li-yang (郭立陽) won silver in the men's 200-meter dual time track final at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, on Thursday.

The 22-year-old Kuo finished the race in 17.305 seconds, just 0.141 seconds behind Spain's Jhoan Sebastian Guzman Bitar, who won gold.

Third place went to Colombian Jhon Edwar Tascon Holguin, who completed the 200-meter dash in a time of 17.581 seconds.

The Taiwanese skater, who is competing in five roller sports events at the World Games, failed to reach the podium in the 100 m road sprint on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after winning the silver, Kuo said after failing to secure a medal in the road race, he was delighted to win one in the track event.

"I feel more at ease now and can focus on competing in other upcoming events," he said, adding that he was satisfied with the result.

Kuo later competed in the men's 500 m sprint, but failed to advance to the final after finishing third with a time of 42.949 seconds in his semifinal.
