On September 1, 2025, Minister of the Interior Liu Shyh-fang attended the Central Police University’s 89th Anniversary and Opening Ceremony. During the event, Minister Liu also presented awards to eight outstanding alumni from the 22nd class. Minister Liu encouraged all students to cultivate democratic values, enhance legal literacy, and develop professional competence as future law enforcement officers. She emphasized the importance of staying current with emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and drones, to enhance operational capabilities and reinforce societal resilience, thereby becoming steadfast protectors of public safety.
To strengthen Taiwan’s “whole-of-society defense resilience,” Central Police University will establish an integrated and interdisciplinary Disaster Prevention and Rescue Academy that integrates teaching, research, and training. The academy will collaborate with international certification bodies and establish combustion and forensic laboratories that meet international standards, positioning itself as a key hub for disaster education, training, and exchange in the Indo-Pacific region. In addition, the university will launch a comprehensive AI-based Cybercrime Investigation and Application Lab to train law enforcement personnel and to develop technological tools for combating emerging forms of crime, thereby enhancing the police force’s frontline capabilities.
Minister Liu commended CPU’s long-standing dedication to cultivating police leadership and upholding social stability. She encouraged all faculty and students to uphold the university’s tradition of integrity, to lead with professionalism, and to transform education and research into a force for safeguarding society.
