2025 Troy Family Daze “International Day Stage, featuring many groups of performances from different cultures

At the 2025 Troy Family Daze on September 14th, members of FASCA Michigan performed on the “International Day” stage. As one of many different cultural groups to perform, the energy of FASCA highlighted the vibrance of Taiwanese cultural traditions. The performance “Joy of Taiwan” lineup featured three different acts, including the Michigan Lion Dance Team, the Chinese Yo-yo (diabolo) team, and lastly the FASCA dance group.

The first act to perform was the Michigan Lion Dance team. Starting with a short yet dynamic drum duet followed by a lively lion dance performance, the Michigan Lion Dance team captured the crowd with their energy. Dressed in yellow and red, colors that have traditionally brought good luck and to ward away evil spirits, their performance consisted of four shifts with dance sequences, a fight scene, bows, and a lift.

After the lion dance performance, FASCA’s Chinese yo-yo team took the stage with their members performing a choreographed group routine along with multiple duets and solos to Bruno Mars’ That’s What I Like. Their performance included the members showing off their Chinese yo-yo tricks including tosses, partner tosses, vertical spins, and more.

The last performance was a group dance by the entirety of FASCA Michigan. They performed a group dance to the Taiwanese song 完美世界 (Wan Mei Shi Jie). The dance team included over 20 members, dancing in sync to the song showcasing their unity and Taiwanese culture. With these three performances, FASCA Michigan’s participation brought along a celebration of cultural exchange and spirit to the 2025 Troy Family Daze.
