Taipei, Jan. 18 (CNA) Taiwanese badminton player Lin Chun-yi (林俊易) won the men's singles title at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 750 India Open in New Delhi on Sunday, defeating Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in the final.

The victory marked Lin's first title at the Super 750 level, following seven titles at lower-tier international tournaments and four at Super 300 events.

In the first game, the left-handed specialist dominated with aggressive cut smashes and flat drives, overwhelming Christie to take the game 21-10.

Christie adjusted his tactics in the early stages of the second game, switching to close-range attacks that Lin initially struggled to counter, and led 11-9 at the mid-game interval.

After the break, Lin raised his tempo and reeled off four consecutive points to draw level at 14-14, but Christie responded to move ahead 18-15. Lin then regrouped and upped the momentum with two sharp diagonal smashes, launching a late surge to win the next five points and reach match point at 20-18.
