The winter sea of flowers along the banks of the Dagou Creek has come into full bloom. The flower-viewing period runs from now through early February 2026. Located within the Dagouxi Ecology and Water-Control Park, the sea of flowers is conveniently accessible via nearby MRT stations and bus stops. The Taipei Hydraulic Engineering Office (HEO) encourages the public to take advantage of the New Year’s holiday to enjoy a leisurely riverside stroll and take in the winter scenery formed by this vibrant sea of flowers.
According to the HEO, this year’s sea of flowers is themed around the imagery of “Ecology and Waterscape.” Drawing inspiration from the rippling patterns of water, the floral display across the lawn presents flowing and converging forms, extending like stream-shaped motifs over the green slopes. The main flower varieties include scarlet sage, marigolds, petunias, and mealy sage. Featuring winter blooms in shades of purple and red, the flowers intertwine to create rich, colorful layers, delivering a visually dynamic effect while also fostering a natural and lively atmosphere.
The River Administration Section of the HEO noted that, in addition to the beautiful water-pattern designs adorning the grassland, many charming small animals can be spotted sharing the space with visitors. Up close, little egrets can be seen moving between nearby lawns and pathways, while rabbits and squirrels appear among the flower beds, adding a sense of movement and playful vitality to the overall landscape and making it a popular highlight for photography.
The HEO expressed its hope that by integrating the sea of flowers and landscape design with natural ecology, the site will become a high-quality recreational space suitable for families to enjoy outdoor strolls, relax, and take photos. This winter, the banks of the Dagou Creek are presenting a distinctly lively palette of colors. The public is warmly invited to visit, admire the flowers, take photos, and check in on social media to experience the winter charm of the Dagou Creek sea of flowers.
