Harry Ho-jen Tseng, Taiwan’s envoy to Canada, has criticized Prime Minister Mark Carney and the recent Canada-China trade deal, calling the Canadian strategy “naive.” Last week, Carney inked a deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping to cut reciprocal tariffs in the face of US tariffs. Tseng said that Canada’s plan to use China to counter the US is “incredibly naive and they may end up losing on both fronts."
