On Feb. 9, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) announced the lineups for the 2026 Taiwan Season at the Festival Off Avignon and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A total of 94 performing arts groups submitted applications this year. Following a competitive review process, eight groups were selected for the official lineup, with three additional groups placed on the reserve list.
Of the 51 groups that applied for the Festival Off Avignon, Dashing Theater (闖劇場), Chun Dance (君舞蹈劇場), Kuo-shin Chuang Pangcah Dance Theater (莊國鑫原住民舞蹈劇場), and Seed Dance (種子舞團) were selected to perform.
Meanwhile, Good Terms Production (一團和氣有限公司), LEI Dance Theater (艸雨田舞蹈劇場), Lu Production (拾陸製作), and Seed Dance were selected to participate in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The Festival Off Avignon will take place from July 4 to 25, while the Edinburgh Festival Fringe will be held from Aug. 7 to 31.
The MOC highlighted that both the Festival Off Avignon and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe are pivotal global arts platforms, providing valuable opportunities to showcase Taiwanese works and foster international collaboration.
