In a meeting held at the Executive Yuan, Premier Su Tseng-chang instructed the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) to monitor the namechange process, and urged the Civil Aeronautics Administration and air carriers to "use every chance" to publicize it.
MOTC Minister Tsai Duei said it will take two to three months to complete allthe administrative tasks necessary to change the airport's name. Tsai said the airport code for CKS airport in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan willremain TPE(Taipei), and that the airport's other international operations would remain unchanged.
He also said that three aviation agreements signed under the name of CKS International Airport would proceed as plaimed and are expected to be setded within six months.
