現今邁入第十六屆，光芒更勝以往的台灣光電大展，明日將在台北世貿中心開幕。商展將對廠商與一般民眾開放。
This annual exhibition of Taiwan's optoelectronics industry, also called "Photonics Festival," will have a larger variety of lineups and additional program features, organizers said. The show will feature 400 exhibitors presenting their latest products and applications throughout more than 1,000 booths, according to Frank Ma, director of the Photonics Industry and Technology Development Association, the show's main organizer.
主辦單位說，又說「光電週」的年度台灣光電產業展覽，將兼具多樣化的陣容與傳統的主題展。這次展覽的主要籌辦人─光電科技工業協會執行長馬松亞─表示，這次展覽將有四百個參展廠商，在一千多個攤位上展示最新產品與相關的應用技術。
New innovations in display panels, LEDs, optoelectronics and laser devices are expected to draw the attention of many Taiwan and international buyers.
展出的顯示器、發光二極體螢幕、光電產品與雷射裝置的創新技術，預期會吸引非常多的本地與國外買家。
Ma said Taiwan's photonics industry is booming and the total production value is expected to exceed NT$1.6 trillion in 2008,while Taiwan's LED packaging, STN/TFT LCD panels, optical disc, and digital cameras are expected to maintain their top ranks in terms of global production value.
馬亞松說，台灣光電產業正在開花結果，二○○八年的總產值，預期將超過台幣一點六兆元。在此同時，台灣在發光二極體（螢幕）封裝、彩色／超薄液晶面板、電腦光碟以及數位相機的生產上，預計能維持在全球產值排名的領先位置。
For the first time in its history, the trade show is expanding into the fast-growing sector of solar power technology, which is featured in the "SolarTaiwan Exposition." It will set up a special display called the "Solar Village" to demonstrate the not-so-distant future where solar power applications are figured into everyday life, such as housing, entertainment, food, communications, transportation, and construction.
光電展也將首度增加「太陽光電展」，展示當前快速增長的太陽能科技。展覽將安排「太陽能村」特展，展示在不久的未來太陽能在日常生活中，諸如住宅、娛樂、飲食、通訊、運輸，以及施工上的應用。
