To promote educational exchanges between Taiwan and France, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the French Institute in Taipei (FIT) recently signed a memorandum of understanding for educational cooperation, according to an FIT press release.

Signed by M. Anthony Chaumuzeau, FIT's counselor for Culture, Educational and Science, and Liu Ching-jen, director of the MOE's Bureau of International Cultural and Educational Relations, the agreement confirmed the Franco-Taiwanese consensus to enhance bilateral educational cooperation, the FIT said.

Under the pact, students from both countries will benefit from more educational and academic exchanges, study opportunities and scholarships, said the FIT which represents French interests in Taiwan in the absence of formal diplomatic ties.
