2025 Taipei International Book Exhibition kicks off, offering adventures of reading

The 2025 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TiBE), themed “Follow Your Fancy in Reading” is taking place from Feb. 4 to 9 at the Taipei World Trade Center. On Feb. 3, the exhibition organizer held a press conference, inviting Minister of Culture Li Yuan, Taipei Book Fair Foundation Chairperson Isabella Wu Yun-yi (吳韻儀), Representative Marco Lombardi of the Italian Economic, Commercial and Cultural Promotion Office in Taipei, and other distinguished guests to unveil the highlights of this year’s event.

Minister Li noted that, as a writer, TiBE is a familiar venue for him, recalling his past experiences participating in book launches, delivering talks, and purchasing books at the exhibition. Echoing the theme “In the High Imagination” of Italy, this year’s Guest of Honor, he added that the Ministry of Culture (MOC) will promote the exhibition through various initiatives.

Chairperson Isabella Wu Yun-yi highlighted that, in addition to entry ticket rebates and Cultural Point rewards offered by the MOC, TiBE has planned over 1,000 activities, featuring more than 50 international writers and specially curated exhibitions, creating a fresh and engaging experience for visitors from all walks of life.

Representative Marco Lombardi remarked that 11 Italian writers have been invited to Taiwan to engage with local readers and authors, extending an invitation to the public to experience Italian literary culture at the event.

The MOC emphasized that the 2025 TiBE has attracted 504 publishing houses from 29 countries. Through a diverse range of themed pavilions, the ministry aims to showcase the richness of Taiwan’s publishing industry and inspire book lovers across the country to explore the world of reading.
