台灣最知名的舞團 -- 雲門舞集週一發表聲明指出，極具盛名的Movimentos國際舞蹈獎之評審委員會，決定頒發終生成就獎表揚雲門舞集創辦人暨編舞家林懷民。
Lin, who is now leading the Cloud Gate dancers on a performance tour of Germany, is the second winner of the Movimentos award in the lifetime achievement category, the statement said.
聲明稿中指出，林懷民目前正帶領雲門舞集的舞者在德國巡迴表演，他是第二位Movimentos國際舞蹈終生成就獎的得主。
The once-every-five year International Movimentos Dance Festival and Awards were launched in 2004, with the first lifetime achievement laurel going to the late Maurice Bejart, who was a French choreographer and leader of various dance companies.
每五年舉行一次的Movimentos國際舞蹈節，二○○四年是第一屆，首座終生成就獎殊榮頒給逝世的法國編舞大師莫裡斯．比傑，他也擔任過許多舞團的團長。
The event is sonsored by the Volkswagen motor group, in collaboration with two European television companies ZDF and ARTE, to honor outstanding dancers and choreographers.
這項活動由福斯汽車公司，與歐洲的ZDF電視台、ARTE電視台共同主辦，旨在表揚出色的舞蹈家和編舞家。
Lin, 61, described the award as a surprise honor, saying he never thought of clinching the coveted laurel because Europe is known to be the meca of modern dance and boasts a wealth of dance talent, the statement said.
聲明中指出，六十一歲的林懷民說這是一個意外的殊榮，他沒想過自己能夠拿下這個夢寐以求的獎項，因為歐洲是鼎鼎大名的現代舞聖地，舞蹈高手雲集。
