Taipei, Sept. 11 (CNA) Taiwan took home a bronze medal on Sunday after losing 1-3 to Great Britain in the semifinals of the Predator World Teams 10-Ball Championship in Austria.

Taiwan's three-person team -- Chou Chieh-yu (周婕妤), Chang Jun-lin (張榮麟), and Wu Kun-lin (吳坤霖) -- entered the round of four undefeated after racking up victories over Canada, Germany, and Austria.

The tournament's team competition is played in a best-of-five-sets format, with individual sets varying between women's singles, men's singles, and mixed doubles.

Chou, fresh off her first-place finish in the women's event Saturday, lost 2-4 in the first set to British World No. 1 Kelly Fisher, while Wu was routed 0-4 in the second set by Jayson Shaw, putting Taiwan down 0-2.

Playing the third frame in mixed doubles, Chou and Chang managed to stay alive by edging out a 4-3 win, but Chang dropped the follow-up singles set to give the British team a 3-1 victory.

With the win, Great Britain will go on to face the winner of the other semifinal between Germany and the Philippines in a championship match scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

As Chou defeated fellow Taiwanese Wei Tzu-chien (魏子茜) in the women's championship event, Taiwan will close out the tournament with a total of three medals -- one gold, one silver, and one bronze.
