Hualien Earthquake One Month On, TaiwanPlus News – 18:00, May 3, 2024

As Taiwan marks one month since a deadly magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the east coast, TaiwanPlus heads to Hualien where most of the damage was done. Meanwhile, shopowners from Hualien County are exhibiting their wares in Taipei in a bid to get vacationers back to the once-vibrant tourist hotspot. Plus, the government has agreed to inject US$880 million for projects to rebuild houses, repair damaged railways and provide rental subsidies for displaced residents.
