Taipei, March 12 (CNA) Taiwanese carriers Eva Air and StarLux Airlines will launch routes from Taiwan to Kobe, Japan on April 18, when the Kobe Airport opens international flight services.

Eva Air said in a statement on Wednesday that between April 18-27, it will fly four round trips per week from Taipei to Kobe for the Expo 2025 Osaka.

After April 28, flights to the airport will be reduced to one round trip every Monday and Friday, the airline said.

The routes will be served by the Airbus A321-200, Eva Air said.

To celebrate the launch of the new route, Eva Air is also selling exclusive group tours in the Kansai and Shikoku areas, according to the statement.

It also announced that flights on Eva Air's Kaohsiung-Osaka route will be increased from seven per week to 11 starting on April 1.

The increase will make the airline the Taiwan carrier with the most flights to Kansai, the statement said.

StarLux, on the other hand, has announced that it will begin operating the Taipei-Kobe and Taichung-Kobe routes on April 18, with three round trips per week between Taipei and Kobe and seven round trips per week between Taichung and Kobe.

The routes will be served by Airbus A321neo aircraft, the company said.
