Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council calls a new Chinese new tip line about "Taiwanese separatists" political interference from Beijing. Tainan residents take part in whole-of-society drills, preparing for catastrophic events like a tsunami or a Chinese invasion. And, police are on high alert as Taiwan’s infamous gang, the Bamboo Union, is expected to elect a new leader after their former boss died in February.

-The Taiwan People’s Party says its founder Ko Wen-je may be experiencing a kidney-related medical emergency while in detention for corruption charges.

-Taiwan cannot confirm whether it will be on the U.S. “Dirty 15” trade list as President Donald Trump slaps a 25% tariff on cars and auto parts.

-Recent South Korean wildfires have claimed at least 24 lives, including a firefighting helicopter pilot.
