More than 2,000 Chinese spouses in Taiwan are being asked to provide important legal documents, leaving their fate uncertain. As Hong Kong marks 28 years since its return to Chinese rule, former pro-democracy politicians say they're still living under government surveillance. And a Taipei exhibit celebrating Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama ahead of his 90th birthday showcases his global influence on human rights. Also:  

-Taiwan’s top baseball league has welcomed a fresh batch of young players.  
-More and more schools in rural Taiwan are shutting down due to a low birth rate.  
-The environment ministry mulls phasing out squat toilets to improve public hygiene and accessibility.
