Taiwan has been ranked the world’s happiest economy for the second consecutive year by placing bottom of Hanke’s Annual Misery Index. Economist Steve Hanke attributed Taiwan’s strong performance to the booming semiconductor and AI industries, which helped drive economic growth. The world's most miserable economy according to Hanke's rankings was Venezuela.
