Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control says COVID-19 infections have risen for five consecutive weeks, with nearly 3,000 cases reported last week, up 34 percent from the week before. The CDC expects infections to peak in about a month as schools resume classes and advises vulnerable groups to get vaccinated. Since October 2025, Taiwan has recorded 136 severe cases and 18 related deaths.
