Taiwan's top economic think tank, the Taiwan Institute for Economic Research, has raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast for the country to 10.38%, the highest projection to date. The upgrade is driven by robust global demand for AI tech, which is fueling Taiwan's electronics industry, boosting exports and domestic investment. However, TIER cautioned that inflation remains a risk due to higher energy and food prices linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict and extreme weather worldwide.
