Taiwan's tourism industry reached a new milestone in 2025, with international visitors spending a record US$11 billion, according to a survey by Taiwan's Tourism Administration, an increase of about 10%. The survey also found more visitors are exploring historical sites, hiking destinations and southern Taiwan, reflecting growing interest in cultural and ecological tourism. Japan remained Taiwan's largest source of tourists, but travelers from the United States clocked the highest daily spending at nearly US$250 per person.
