Taiwan's digital minister, Lin Yi-jing, says some authoritarian governments are using artificial intelligence to promote their own versions of history and shape public narratives. During a recent visit to the US, Lin met with government officials, think tanks and major AI companies to discuss artificial intelligence and cybersecurity cooperation. While he did not identify China as the threat, he warned about the risks posed by AI-driven information campaigns. Cybersecurity was also a key topic, with the digital ministry saying the country faces around 2.6 million cyberattacks each day.
