December 21, 2025 — Monmouth Junction, NJ
To celebrate the holiday season with energy and camaraderie, 40 students, parents, and counselors from the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) Princeton Chapter gathered on December 21 at ProSkate Ice Arena in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, for a festive ice skating event. The outing offered members a joyful break from a busy year of service and cultural activities, while strengthening friendships through shared experiences on and off the ice.
As participants laced up their skates, the rink quickly came alive with excitement. For some students, ice skating was already a familiar sport, and they confidently showed off spins, fast laps, and smooth footwork across the ice. Others, however, were stepping onto the rink for the very first time, cautiously balancing on blades while holding onto the rink boards—or each other—for support. The mix of experience levels created an encouraging atmosphere, with more experienced skaters offering tips and reassurance to beginners.
“I’ve skated before, but it’s way more fun when you’re here with friends,” said Quincy Kin, a senior member. “Everyone was cheering each other on, even when someone fell. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming.”
For first-time skaters, the event became a memorable personal milestone. “This was my first time wearing ice skates,” shared freshman member Kyleen Liao. “I was really nervous at first, but my friends stayed with me the whole time. By the end, I could skate on my own, and I felt so proud.”
After 90 minutes on the ice, laughter and chatter continued as everyone gathered in a private room to warm up. Hot pizza was served, and the room quickly filled with conversation, jokes, and shared stories from the rink. Parents and counselors joined in, creating a multigenerational setting that reflected the family-like spirit of the FASCA community.
Counselor Vincent noted that events like this play an important role in the chapter’s growth. “FASCA is known for service and leadership, but activities like ice skating help students bond in a different way,” he said. “These moments build trust and friendships that carry over into our volunteer work.”
The relaxed post-skate gathering allowed members to reflect on the year while enjoying the holiday mood. “Skating, eating pizza, and just talking made me realize how close we’ve become,” said junior member Aaron Wang. “It really feels like a second family.”
As the event came to an end, participants left with tired legs, warm smiles, and lasting memories. The ice skating celebration was more than a holiday outing—it was a reminder that through fun, support, and shared laughter, FASCA Princeton continues to foster a strong sense of community among its members.
