On October 10, 2026, the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors San Diego Chapter (FASCA-SD) held its October Monthly Meeting, bringing student cultural ambassadors together to strengthen teamwork, celebrate Taiwanese culture, and review organizational responsibilities. Through a collaborative team-building activity, a celebration of The National Day of The Republic of China(Taiwan), and task force group discussions, members developed their communication skills while reinforcing their shared commitment to cultural promotion, leadership, and community service.

A highlight of the meeting was a fun team-building activity in which students worked together to draw a Chinese character using a Sharpie attached to strings held by multiple members. The challenge required clear communication, coordination, patience, and teamwork as students adjusted their movements to achieve a shared goal. Through this creative activity, members learned that successful teamwork depends on cooperation, trust, and recognizing the importance of everyone's contribution.

The meeting also celebrated The National Day of The Republic of China(Taiwan), observed annually on October 10th. Members learned about Taiwan's history and cultural heritage while reflecting on the importance of preserving and sharing Taiwanese traditions. The celebration reinforced FASCA-SD's mission of fostering cultural pride and inspiring young ambassadors to share their Taiwanese heritage with the broader community.

Members also gathered in their three task force groups—Public Relations (PR), Administration, and Course Planning—to review responsibilities, exchange ideas, and discuss upcoming activities. These discussions helped students better understand their roles, strengthen collaboration, and take greater ownership of their contributions to FASCA-SD's mission.

“The October Monthly Meeting highlighted the power of teamwork, cultural pride, and leadership. Through meaningful activities and shared experiences, FASCA-SD continues to empower young ambassadors to embrace their Taiwanese heritage, grow as leaders, and make a lasting impact through cultural outreach and community service,’”said consulting mentor Irene Wang.

The October Monthly Meeting was especially meaningful as three of our new FASCA members, Natalie Yu, Hannah Chang, and Eliza Ng, took on project leader roles for the first time, leading the planning and organization of the meeting. Their dedication, teamwork, and willingness to step into leadership roles helped make the event a success. Through this experience, FASCA-SD continues to empower young ambassadors to build confidence, develop leadership skills, embrace their Taiwanese heritage, and make a lasting impact through cultural outreach and community service.
